Jonathan D'Alessio

Graduate Research Assistant
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

D'Alesio is a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He graduated from WVU in 2020 with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.

Johnathan's academic interests include computational fluid dynamics, gridding techniques, transient finite volume analysis, and missile systems. He is currently working on research involving CFD and overset gridding techniques conducted within ANSYS Fluent and ICEM CFD. The research entails examining a damaged aerodynamic body's flight performance while exploring the viability of various overset gridding methods. The goal is to identify the computationally predicted aerodynamic performance of bodies subjected to varying structural damage levels compared to experimental results.

He is from Columbia, Maryland.
